Old info but I hope interesting. As boys my brother and I used to take star charts out and identify stars, constellations, hope for meteors etc. On one such night I noticed a “star” was moving in relation to other stars. It was a single white light and was star like in apparent size and brightness. As we watched it continued to move but remained in a very small section of the sky. It was making abrupt right angles, triangles, “yo-yo like movements, circles, ETC. It was moving at a speed that seemed “normal” but flying patterns that were highly irregular. Yes, it would have been possible for a helicopter to do what it was doing and helicopters existed at the time but I submit that a UFO would be more likely than a helicopter flying crazily at night in the early 1950’s over Oklahoma. There are no nearby military bases and little reason for a helicopter to mill around like a moth near a light.
With no reference it is difficult to know if it was large and farther away or smaller and nearer. I thought it was perhaps 3 or four miles at the time but it is a guess.
We watched it for perhaps 15 minutes and I regret I no longer recall how it ended. Whether it just winked out or faded or maybe Mom made us come in. I was ten years old then and am 69 now.
