We were fishing on the south side of 528 at the Indian River bridge. The day was perfect with clear skies to the south, east and north. Some light clouds were building to the west. Directly in front of us you could see aircraft landing at Patrick AFB. We usually fish at night and watch the skies. Our eyes sweep the beautiful daytime skies as we glanced at the rod tips as fish periodically hit our bait. After one of those glance at the rods, I looked back up in the sky and there was a very large brilliant red cube, slowly rotation like a gigantic mylar balloon. It was drifting with the sea breeze, just rotation in a fixed point in the sky. I shout to the lady with me to look at it because she had taken her eyes off the sky to look at the rods. As it rotated it reflected the sun when the angles were right. We watched it for about 10-15 seconds which allowed me to see a tiny C-130 landing in the distance and below the object. It was elevated at about a 45 degree angle from us and I would guess about 5 miles and over the just over the coastline of A1A from us, since Patrick AFB is 10 miles away in a straight line. I ran to the truck to see if I had my camera or binoculars for about 10 secs. I got back and she said that it just faded away and disappeared. At that distance and size, I would say that it had to be at least a 1/8 miles cube with smooth sides all around it like a solid structure. It was very pretty and sent both of us from a calm relaxed state to a adrenaline rush state immediately. As a former aircraft mechanic in the AFB, I know that we have seem many UFOs at night while fishing with my oldest sons. However, this is the first one we have ever seem that close and that big during the perfect daytime sky. The date and time are fairly accurate. Sorry for my hesitation on reporting this occurence. By-the-way, since it didn’t make any noise, that did make it kind of creepy.
